INGLÉS el verbo To Do

-el hacer más abstracto: Yo hago mis deberes --> To do
-el hacer de "fabricar": yo hago pasteles = yo fabrico pasteles --> To make

Conjugar el verbo To Do es muy fácil como ya hemos visto

En PRESENTE: la forma es DO menos en 3ª del sing. que es DOES: yo hago mis deberes

I do
You do
He/she/it does
we do
you do
they do

I did
You did
He/she/it did
we did
you did
they did

¿No te quejaras? :-)

FORMA ABREVIADA

Cuando se usa para negativas, el verbo To Do se puede abreviar (sólo en lenguaje hablado y lenguaje coloquial escrito)

Es muy sencillo y sigue la pauta de siempre: juntamos el VERBO TO DO con la PARTÍCULA NEGATIVA.

El verbo To Do auxiliar abreviado:

 Presente                             Pasado
I don't like ice-cream
You don't like ice-cream
He doesn't like ice-cream
She doesn't like ice-cream
It doesn´'t like ice-cream
We don't like ice-cream
you don't like ice-cream
they don't like ice-cream
I didn't like ice-cream
You didn't like ice-cream
He didn't like ice-cream
She didn't like ice-cream
It didn't like ice-cream
We didn't like ice-cream
Yoy didn't like ice-cream
They didn't like ice-cream

INGLÉS formar frases en interrogativa con To Do

do you like...? How do you do? ... I don't like mondays

You are in the beach -- Are you in the beach?

You drive a car --> Do you drive a car?

TO DO + sujeto + verbo principal en infinitivo + ....

   Do     +  you    + drive  + a car?

I do
You do
He/she/it does
we do
you do
they do

La afirmativa es You drive a car.

Interrogativa es:

do I drive...?
do you drive...?
does he drive...?
does she drive...?
does it drive...?
do we drive...?
do you drive...?
do they drive...?

INGLÉS: construcciones en negativa con To Do

Para construir frases negativas (e interrogativas -clic-) en inglés se usa el auxiliar To Do (recordad: se usa la partícula TO delante del verbo para crear el infinitivo)

Bueno, no con todos los verbos: ya sabemos que el verbo To Be es especial y va por libre (y algún otro que ya te explicaré) así que no necesita el auxilar To Do para sus preguntas (are you theacher?)  ni sus negaciones (No, you are not a theacher)

¿te suena?: do you like...? How do you do? ... I don't like mondays

I do
You do
He/she/it does
we do
you do
they do

En inglés ese No es NOT : You like ice-cream / You do NOT like ice-cream

Lo del NOT es algo lógico: si algo NO nos gusta ponemos el NOT... lo del verbo To Do ya es algo más raro, porque en castellano no usamos un auxiliar para construir frases negativas.

Pero es sencillo, primero porque conjugar el verbo To Do no es nada difícil (¿a que aun te lo sabes?... I do, you do, he/she/it does...) y segundo porque una vez te acostumbras te darás cuenta de que te sale automático y que sin el DO suena raro :-)

Sujeto + TO DO + NOT + verbo principal en infinitivo + ....
   You   +    do     + not   +               like                       + ice-cream

You do not like ice-cream

Usamos el auxiliar DO junto con la partícula negativa NOT

You             like    ice-cream
You do not like    ice-cream

Afirmativa: I like ice-cream
Negativa:

I do not like ice-cream
You do not like ice-cream
He does not like ice-cream
She does not like ice-cream
It does not like ice-cream
We do not like ice-cream
you do not like ice-cream
they do not like ice-cream

El verbo To Do auxiliar abreviado:

I don't like ice-cream
You don't like ice-cream
He doesn't like ice-cream
She doesn't like ice-cream
It doesn´'t like ice-cream
We don't like ice-cream
you don't like ice-cream
they don't like ice-cream

It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking in the dark
Under the moonlight you see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it
You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes
You're paralyzed

'Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to strike
You know it's thriller, thriller night
You're fighting for life inside a killer, thriller tonight

You hear a door slam and realize there's nowhere left to run
You feel the cold hand and wonder if you'll ever see the sun
You close your eyes and hope that this is just imagination
But all the while you hear the creature creepin' up behind
You're out of time

'Cause this is thriller, thriller night
There ain't no second chance against the thing with forty eyes
You know it's thriller, thriller night
You're fighting to survive inside a killer, thriller tonight

Night creatures call
The dead start to walk in their masquerade
There's no escapin' the jaws of the alien this time (they're open wide)
This is the end of your life

They're out to get you, there's demons closing in on every side
They will possess you unless you change the number on your dial
Now is the time for you and I to cuddle close together
All thru the night I'll save you from the terrors on the screen
I'll make you see

That it's a thriller, thriller night
'Cause I can thrill you more than any ghost who would dare to try
Girl, this is thriller, thriller night
So let me hold you tight and share a killer, diller, chiller
Thriller here tonight

Rap:
Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'awl's neighborhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller
(mechanical laughter)
